1984 Statoil came to Germany with a vision: Ostfriesland as a platform for natural gas supplies to Europe. 25 years have passed since then, and the former vision has become reality. Today 30 percent of the in Germany used natural gas comes from the Ostfriesischen Nordseeküste: continuously and reliably - yesterday, today and also tomorrow. Statoil carried out pioneer work and has established itself in the region.
For over fifteen years we operate the Etzel Gas-Lager near Friedeburg and since 1995 we are responsible as transport system operator for the gas transports from Emden as well as from Dornum to our customers all over Germany.
