On 1 October the Norwegian energy companies Statoil and NorskHydro consolidate their oil and gas activities. |

From the 1 October 2009 StatoilHydro Deutschland and other net operators consolidate their actual market areas. A new market area for Germany is born: GASPOOL.
In September StatoilHydro Deutschland goes back to the old and new company name: Statoil Deutschland. Furthermore two new daughter companies are established: Statoil Deutschland Tranport GmbH und Statoil Deutschland Storage GmbH.
On the 2 November 2009 Statoil implementes worldwide a new corporate design, logo and vision: Crossing Energy Frontiers.
In February the Norwegian Richard Eriksen took over as head of Statoil Deutschland.
